Release 124, Role Settings

The main focus of this release is giving you more control over who can edit other members and who can see the Personal Board view.

Released on 16 December 2024

Who can edit other users

The new "edit member profiles, roles and emails" setting can be enabled for any user role (except Guests), giving you full control over who can edit other team members.

Previously only administrators and managers could edit other users and they could only edit members with the same-or-lower role. This new setting makes things simpler and gives you more control over what each person can do.

For example: Some managers may not need the ability to edit other users, HR teams may need to edit the entire team but have limited project access. You can now create roles which better suit your organisation.

Note that only administrators have this setting enabled by default, if you want your managers to edit other users you'll need to modify that role.

Hide the personal board view

The new "view personal board" setting can be toggled for any user role, allowing you to completely hide the personal board from certain team members.

The personal board is a place where users can manage their work using custom statuses which are only visible to them. Some highly structured teams prefer their members always use project statuses, especially if they take advantage of project-level workflows or automations. In these cases hiding the personal board completely may be beneficial.

New options for managing users

On the manage users page you can now choose which columns are visible, sort by any column, and there are new teams/skills/rate columns to choose from. This will make it much easier for large organisations to manage their teams.
