Release 130, Actual Start & Finish
Progress and actual start/finish dates have always been interconnected, this release refines those relationships so your project dates remain accurate in more situations.
Released on 7 April 2025
In this release we've made our automatic start and finish date calculations smarter. Previously if you marked a task as done we'd automatically set actual finish date to match the planned finish date, now the actual finish date will match the day the task was marked as complete. This is more logical and let's you compare planned and start finish dates to see if you're behind or ahead of schedule.
Here's a summary of the automatic actual start/finish date logic:
- Marking a task as completed will set the actual finish date to today
- Changing a task from not started to started, sets the actual start date to today
- Reducing the progress below 100% will remove the actual finish
- Marking a task as not started will remove the actual start
- Removing the actual finish date on a completed task reduces it to 99% complete
- Removing the actual start date sets the progress to 0%
This release also includes a dozen security and performance improvements.
