Release 132, Update Plan from Actuals

We've introduced a new project planning mode for managers who want their planned dates to be automatically updated based on your actual data.

Released on 12 May 2025

New Planned Dates Setting

The new link dependency mode will update planned dates as your actual dates are recorded. For example if a task finishes a few days early, any tasks scheduled to start straight after will automatically move forward by a few days to match. This way the interdependent work always starts at the most optimal time.

By default this new mode is disabled and actual data is isolated from planned data, allowing you to compare planned vs actual to understand how your team is tracking.

Custom Role Settings

We've simplified the behaviour of two user role settings.

project portfolio permission change may 2025

Previously the Create Projects setting also enabled some portfolio features like managing project folders. Users of all levels often need the ability to create their own projects, so we've changed this setting to purely control creating projects. All portfolio-level changes are now under the Manage Project Portfolio setting. New behaviour:

  • Manage project portfolio - For all high-level portfolio management features including: organising projects into folders, adding project notes and status updates, managing your portfolio-level custom fields.
  • Create projects - Anyone with this setting can create projects, nice and simple!
