Release 149, Date-based Automation

Our new date-based automation triggers, based on task start date and finish dates, enable a whole new category of proactive automation rules.

Released 9 February 2026

Date-based Automation

We have added six new date-based automation triggers which open up many more automation possibilities. The new triggers are:

  • On task start date
  • X days before start date
  • X days after start date
  • On due date
  • X days before due date
  • X days after due date

Here are some examples of new rules you can create:

  • Actively monitor overdue tasks - If a high priority task was due yesterday but isn't complete yet, log a risk in the RAID log and notify the project manager.
  • Prompt assignees if they're falling behind - If a task is due in two days but is less than half done, increase the priority and contact the assignees.
  • Be more prepared for important work - If a high priority task starts tomorrow, notify the assignee so they can get prepared.
  • Smart dependency notifications - If a task is due tomorrow, notify the assignees of linked tasks so they know they'll be starting soon.
