Release 85, Email & Password Security
Access to your workspace is something that should be provisioned with the highest-grade security features for your data and your teams in mind.
Released on 27 April 2023
Today we made additional improvements to meet industry-standard practices for enterprise-grade email and password security. All of these features are available for all users on all editions.
-
Improved Password Security
Previously, an admin or a Global admin could reset the password of another user via a password link on the user profile. In order to protect unwarranted account access, we have removed the Password reset link. We advise Workspace Admins to inform their team members that they can reset their own passwords via the Reset Password link on their Login page.

Improved Email Security
We have improved email security to prevent unauthorized access to your Workspace data. A user’s email address is now unable to be edited, once it has been validated by that user. To change an email address for a user or yourself, you can invite a new user with the preferred email and deactivate the old email. If you have associated tasks and assignment data, it’s easy to Merge that resource's data into the new resource via the Manage Users Page.
This release also includes fixes for certain customers who experienced login issues for previously deactivated users.
FAQ
I invited a user but they never got an invite email. What do I do?
Go to the Manage Users page and click on the Ellipses icon for that user. Select “Resend Invite Email” to trigger another invitation email for that user.
I never got a password reset email or an email while trying to verify my account. What do I do?
There’s a couple reasons this could happen. You can check your Spam folder to see if they got stuck in there. You should also add @projectmanager.com to your Safe Senders list, here’s how you can do that in Outlook and Gmail. If you’ve done this and you're still not seeing emails, please contact support.
I’m worried about security when people leave the company, so how do I change another user’s password so I can be sure they can’t log in to the software?
We care about security, too! That’s why we have removed the ability for someone else to be able to change the password of another user, which can create security vulnerabilities with your Workspace data. Rest assured, when you deactivate a user from your Workspace, they immediately lose access privileges to your Workspace. The “Deactivate User” function can be found on the Manage Users> ellipses menu for that user. Selecting “Deactivate User” will retain all their history in the account, but will immediately log them out, prevent them from accessing the Workspace, and remove the Workspace Listing from their Account Workspace selector. However, if they are a member of another Workspace, they will retain access to those other Workspaces.
As an admin, how can I reset my user’s password?
You should inform your team members that they can reset their own passwords via the Reset Password link on their Login page.
How do I force a reset of all my users’ passwords?
SAML-supported customers (Enterprise edition) are able to provision their users’ passwords via their SAML identity provider.
How do I change email addresses for me or other users?
We have improved email security to prevent unauthorized access to your Workspace data. A user’s email address is now unable to be edited, once it has been validated by that user. To change an email address for a user or yourself, you can invite a new user with the preferred email and deactivate the old email.
