# How Can I Collaborate on a Task?

### Navigating the Task Card

The task card gives you quick access to all key task details. Here's everything you can find on the [task card](https://learn.projectmanager.com/task-card):

- Task approvals
- Planned vs. actual data
- Custom fields
- Comments
- Progress
- Duration
- Description
- Hours
- Cost
- Tags
- Priority level
- Subtasks
- Date

### **Adding Files**

To attach files to a task, you have several options:

- Click the paperclip icon in the top menu on the Gantt, in the task description, or in a comment.
- In the task popup, click the **Drag and drop or browse** text in the Attachments section to browse and select a file.
- Drag and drop a file directly into the task popup.

To view all files added to a project, navigate to the Files page. If you add a file to a project, all team members with access to that project will be able to access the [files page](https://learn.projectmanager.com/files).

### **Add Comments in the List, Board, and Gantt Views**

In ProjectManager, you can add comments to tasks in the List, Board, and Gantt views. Comments appear on the right side of the task card in the Board and List views, or in the info column on the Gantt if the task belongs to a project.

 

**The Gantt view is only available on the Team plan and above.**

To add a comment on the list or board view, go to the bottom of the task, enter your comment, and press Enter. You can add files, emojis, and formatting, or @mention a team member. Once a comment has been added, you can add an emoji to the comment by clicking the smiley face button.

When your team members have added new comments, the comment icon to the right of the date on the list or board will be bold until you have read the comment.

 

**Note:** New comments also trigger an email alert and in-app notification, depending on your notification preferences. If you @mention a team member in a comment, they will receive an automatic notification.
