Release 153, Protecting Closed Projects
We've added new layers of data protection to closed and deleted projects, along with a new view-only mode.
Released 13 April 2026
This update focuses on protecting closed and deleted projects.
Locked Rates
Resource and material costs are now locked when a project is closed or deleted. Even if the hourly rates of assignees changes over time, planned and actual costs of closed projects remain the same. This ensures the integrity of historical project reports over time.
Locked Project Data
Most other project fields are also now locked when a project is closed or deleted, a manager can only change the following from the Portfolio screen:
-
Status → Re-open the project for all members
-
Name → Rename or prefix the project to help understand it
-
Folder → Organise or hide the project
-
Members → Remove access for certain members for security reasons
View-only Mode
We've also introduced a new view-only mode for projects, so you no longer have to completely re-open a project to see its data. Simply click on a closed or deleted project in the Portfolio list and it will automatically open in view-only mode. In view-only mode you can access project views, export your data, create a template, view audit logs and more; but you won't be able to edit task or risk data.
